CAMHS ( Child and Adoloscent Mental Health Services )

CAMHS delivers psychological and psychiatric services within a 4-tier strategic framework for children and young people up to 18 years of age and in full time education who present problems in mental or emotional health. This service can be accessed via referral from a GP, mental health practitioner or relevant professional eg headteacher.

CARM ( Calling all together on the Romney Marsh )

Mission Statement: CARM seeks to support people living on Romney Marsh and its surrounding rural areas who are socially isolated. Through this support we aim to improve people's well-being, to help people remain independent for longer and to enhance the quality of life of the rural communities where we operate. In pursuing this mission we will treat people with dignity and respect.

We offer a befriending service (Well Being at Home), a coffee morning/social drop-ins in ten locations across the Marsh (Meeting Points), a reminiscence service in care homes (our Memories Matter), and a safeguarding service provided on behalf of Kent Adult Social Services (STOP)

EIS East Kent Early Intervention in Psychosis Team

This is a specialist team that works with young people aged 14 – 35 who might be experiencing symptoms of psychosis for the first time. The team is made up of professionals from a number of disciplines and can provide long term care. Access to this service can be by self referral. It typically takes 1 – 2 weeks for an assessment to be made.

Rethink Carers Support Group ( Folkestone )

A friendly group of carers offering mutual support to anyone caring for a relative or friend with mental illness. The group meets monthly at the Resource Centre (Mill Bay entrance) on the 2nd Thursday of each month from 7 – 9.00 p.m. (with the exception of January and July). The group has a comprehensive resource facility with up-to-date information. Speakers occasionally attend the group meetings to give talks on subjects relating to mental health issues.
