Become A Volunteer
The operation of our services depends upon the help of volunteers. We have at least 40 part time volunteers who provide support to our organisation. We are very grateful for any help given to us.
We are particularly interested in hearing from volunteers to help
– Support staff in facilitating morning drop in sessions
For other opportunities please contact the Centre.
An application form for the Centre is attached please print this off and return it to the address included. Most volunteers will be required to undergo a check by the Disclosure & Barring Service (formerly Criminal Records Bureau). This can take up to four weeks to complete.
Competing in a sponsored event is a fantastic way to help raise funds for Folkestone & District Mind. If you are looking to participate in a marathon, half-marathon, triathlon, 10k, 5k, bungee jump, parachute jump, or any other incredible feat of athleticism, then please consider fundraising for us at the same time.
We have branded t-shirts that we can supply you along with a Sponsorship Form on which to gather the information of all the friends, family, and supporters who are generously donating to Folkestone & District Mind because of the great work you are doing.
“Volunteering is a way of giving back something for the help I have had. I kept coming when I was unwell as it gave me a sense of order to my day and stopped me from being alone.”

Volunteer in our shops
We are always on the look-out for volunteers to help us run our shops. If you are interested in volunteering in our charity shops in Cheriton or Hythe, then please speak to one of the members of staff in each shop, or contact the main office
Volunteer to fundraise
Giving up your time to help us fundraise is one of the areas that your time can make the greatest impact. We need volunteers to help us organise sponsored events, charity collections at supermarkets and in the town centres, and to help us reach out to the local community.
